The Writing-Across-the-Curriculum program at Randolph-Macon College supports and encourages faculty to include writing in their courses.
Campus Resources:
The WAC program is housed in the Writing Center on the second floor of the library. There faculty can find out more about and contribute to the following:
*Books and resources on writing practices in a variety of disciplines, including biology, chemistry, history, literature, art, film, music, and the social sciences.
*Handouts on grammar, mechanics, oraganization, and more.
*Student tutors who have been trained in the writing practices of disciplines across campus and who can visit individual classes to speak to them about writing in the disciplines and the role of the Writing Center.
*Workshops on specific writing-related topics such as assignment design, teacher feedback, revision techniques, and assessment models.
*Writing Center Tutor Session Reports. Students are given a summary of their session after a visit. If you'd like to see a copy, please ask the student to share it with you. We believe that it should be the student's decision whether his or her session is confidential.
