Mission of the Parents Association
The Randolph-Macon Parents Association strives to involve parents in an array of campus and regional activities that promote the image and reputation of Randolph-Macon, support the financial needs of the College through a vibrant Parents Fund, attract qualified student applicants, and make the college experience a positive one for parents and families.
You will be hearing from the Parents Association throughout the academic year! The Parents Association Board of Directors is divided into several committees that all have the goal of helping the College accomplish its numerous goals and reaching out to R-MC families.
Parents Fund Committee
The Parents Fund Committee focuses on making calls on behalf of Randolph-Macon College to raise leadership contributions for the Parents Fund, promoting the leadership gift societies of the Parents Fund, and increasing parent giving participation rates.
Admissions Committee
The Admissions Committee helps to identify and recruit serious, well-qualified students. Members of this committee will be expected to host receptions or attend college nights in their area in an effort to attract student applicants. Committee members may also assist by telephoning accepted students and parents to encourage their enrollment.
Parent Relations Committee
The Parent Relations Committee will focus on making welcome phone calls to incoming families, hosting goodwill regional events for R-MC families and increasing attendance at Family Weekend each fall.
Communications Committee
The primary purpose of the Communications Committee is to inform Randolph-Macon College families of what is happening on campus. This includes assisting in preparing quarterly Parents Association updates, keeping the parents’ website up-to-date, and creating, with the assistance of the Marketing & Communications Office, a communication plan for all R-MC families.
