The Service Fellows Program is a multi-year experience that integrates direct service opportunities with instruction, reflection, and exploration of the contexts and root causes of social needs.
The Service Fellows Program enriches the learning experience and development of each fellow as they become builders of sustainable and just communities. The program is designed to operate much like a not-for-profit service organization.
Service Fellows have the opportunity to progress through four years of guided service, exploration, and reflection in this intentional co-curricular program. Fellows must participate in at least year two through four to complete the program. The Service Fellows Program provides real world experience combined with education and reflection in focused and intentional ways.
Service Fellows will log over 200 hours of direct service during
their four-year tenure in the program. Each Fellow works with other fellows or in
various other community organizations providing service and time to assist with
the goals of the selected project.
Student Board of Directors
The Service Fellows Program is designed to operate like not-for-profit
aid agency. The Service Fellows annually elect four (4) administrative
officers who serve at the pleasure of the Service Fellows Board,
comprised of all Service Fellows, and the Assistant Dean of Students.
