SERVE Program Intern

Position: Office Assistant

Reports to: Director of Student Life

The Student Assistant is responsible for working with the Assistant Director of Student Life and the SERVE Program. This position consists of 10 hours a week, and is not for academic credit. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to the following:

  1. Maintain monthly totals of service hours and philanthropy dollars for reporting purposes.
  2. Develop and write weekly SERVE Spotlights.
  3. Assist in monthly SERVE Award announcement.
  4. Work to enhance and deliver messages from the SERVE program and its staff to various constituencies in appealing and efficient manner.
  5. Update SERVE Connect.
  6. Assist in creating ongoing relationships with outside organizations and agencies.
  7. Maintain the SEC Kitchen by keeping the area clean and tidy, organizing cabinets, and discarding any out of date perishable items.
  8. Complete other duties as assigned

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

The majority of the duties of this position are performed under normal office conditions, however, this job does require that the intern be able to work weekends, evenings and flex periods. The Intern must be able to work outside for extended periods of time and will be required to traverse uneven ground in unpaved, undeveloped areas. The Intern will interact with professional colleagues, students, parents of students, alumni, College volunteer groups and off-campus agencies. 1/17
