New Student Orientation

Welcome New Yellow Jacket Families!

The first communication, from The Office of New Student Orientation, has been sent to our newest Yellow Jackets! It went to their personal email account with the subject “New Student Orientation Day!”

Important Dates to Know

New Student Orientation Day:

Tuesday, June 6th (this date is now full) or Tuesday, June 13th

New Student Orientation Day is the kick-off to a student’s first year at R-MC. This daylong event is all about connections! By the end students will have a better sense of their new home, individuals that are excited to see them thrive, and will leave with a copy of their fall course schedule.

Register early - dates will fill on a first come, first served basis! Due to the nature of these carefully scheduled programs the date selected DOES NOT place a student at a measurable advantage or disadvantage for course selection. Select the option that works best!

Through the New Student Orientation Day RSVP Form (available on MyMaconWeb) students will select a date or let the Office of Orientation know there is a conflict! Once submitted a confirmation or next steps for an alternate opportunity will be sent to their R-MC email account.

Parent Orientation Day:

Tuesday, June 6th (this date is now full) or Tuesday, June 13th

We know that this is also a time of transition for our Yellow Jacket families! We will offer an optional Parent Orientation that will run concurrently with New Student Orientation Day. Students can register their family for this event when they complete their RSVP Form. They can also provide an additional email address where key reminders and Parent Orientation Day information will be sent.

New Student Move-In & Welcome Week:

Thursday, August 31st & Friday, September 1st - Sunday, September 3rd

First Day of Classes:

Monday, September 4th

Family Weekend 2017:

Friday, September 29th - October 1st

Things New Students Can Be Doing Now

Get comfortable with MyMaconWeb & R-MC email! An email with the subject “R-MC Account Information” was sent to the student’s personal account and it has everything needed to get started. MyMaconWeb will be updated with new and helpful information throughout the spring.

Complete the New Student Orientation Day RSVP Form and begin Forms For New Students. These forms can be accessed on MyMaconWeb. Students can also track the receipt of forms in this portal!

Check R-MC email for important confirmations, updates and information from the college. Begin a helpful habit – this account is the official method of communication between the college and the student.

We know students have been working hard- finish strong and ENJOY your spring
