The arts, and music specifically, offer unique and personal ways for the individual to view, understand, and communicate about the world.
The Music Program at Randolph-Macon College offers all students the hands-on opportunity to explore the creative process of music, to understand the relationship between personal art and society, and to develop personal musical skills through participation in ensembles, applied study, historical study, technological applications, internships, and music industry coursework.
The music students will receive a lot of one on one coursework with the faculty. This gives each student the professional attention that one would receive in their Graduate Studies.
Students may choose a major or minor in music. In addition, students may pursue a Virginia Teaching License, with endorsements in Vocal-Choral Music or Instrumental Music, through Randolph-Macon's Music Education Program. Details on program requirements can be found in the course catalog.
Our goal at Randolph-Macon is to enable students to utilize music throughout their lives in whatever manner or direction they wish.
Music ensembles include Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Hanover Concert Band, Pep Band, and more.
